Mean 18
This was about the first and about one of the simplest Golf games to play and personally I thought it was the best. The graphics are basic (naturally) but the playability is great because you can get straight into the game without a lot of set-up. Club selection and sroke adjustment are very easy. Highly recommended for retrophiles and those like me without a great deal of game skill.

This precursor to Accolade's masterpiece Jack Nicklaus series was voted "Best Simulation" of 1986 by the SPA (who made the right choice, for once). Apart from the excellent strategy opions and legendary courses of Pebble Beach and St. Andrews, you can also design your own courses with the Course Architect. Up to 4 players can compete in this great golf game. If you like golf games in general and prefer playability to realism, Mean 18 is well worth your time.
