THE world war one air combat sim, Red Baron 3D was an upgrade patch for RB2. There is still a large following of players and servers for online multiplayer use but you have to hunt for the tools to make it work and the workarounds for WinXP. The only fault in this game (for me) is carried by all of the RB line, panning views is done by hold a joystick button and moving the stick, during which time the plane flies uncontrolled. Aside from that, the AI and campaign modes are very good and the combat is very challenging. The game is still well supported by third party tools, some of which are required for newer systems. If the idea of going manno y manno in a plane with virtually no protection or gizmos is your thing then this is the air combat sim for you. Does include a mission designer as well as the ability to do your own paint scheme when you reach (or make yourself) a high enough rank. Very challenging in all modes of play, a serious ten for me 5
