Best racing game. Need I say more?
Daytona USA Deluxe may easily be the best racing game of the nineties (Need for speed being another one). Made in 1996, it is way ahead of it's time when design, visual appearance and textures are concerned. I've never seen such a realistic and graphically detailed game from the mid nineties. It features fantastic texture mapping and it was then considered the most visually detailed 3D arcade racing game up to date. You play the game in a stock car with either a manual or automatic transmission, which is your choice. There are eight tracks to choose from and a variety of cars. You have to outrun the competing cars, and complete the race before time runs out. You can play alone or in a multiplayer match, and you can link two ore more cabinets to increase the player number to eight. The game is just outstanding. It provides excitement, fun, and a very high replay value, and you will play for hours on end, just wanting to get better time. The soundtrack for the game is composed by a very talanted Japanese composer Takenobu Mitsuyoshi and he did a fantastic jobs. This game is not to be missed neither by racing car fans, nor anybody else. High five!
