Fun under an orange sky
3 Skulls of the Toltecs is a 2D point and click adventure videogame released in 1996 and developed by Revistronic. This spanish company gained its fame in the digital business by promoting only artistic perspectives and modern technology. The gameplay brings back the old western atmosphere, that somehow reminded me of the old Clint Eastwood movies. Here, your character is a cowboy named Fenimore Fillmore that has to find three skulls and a treasure. You will enjoy the cartoony graphics that look like they are taken from a comic book. As Revistronic revealed, every part of this game is created by traditional animators. The puzzles involve conversations with other characters (where you choose from a variety of responses that affect the course of the game), the use of inventory, and collecting different items. During his exploration adventure, Fenimore faces a lot of obstacles and danger, and this aspect will raise the action of the game. Also, the tasks you have to complete will become increasingly difficult. Another plus of the game is represented by the excellent voice acting. In conclusion, I recommend this game, but only to those interested in playing an adventure game for the first time. A gamer that is no stranger to this genre will probably get bored.
