A proper, mid 80s `tastic backgammon sim!
Backgammon is a proper, not too many frills, not too many additional elements kind of backgammon, released in 86, by the well established, by that point, ShareData company. Thus, even if old, and graphically almost deplete of any individuality, Backgammon sure plays well, and some that proper company product feel to it. The controls are nice, and the dice rolling is done automatically. Your choices have to do more with the placement of the circles (which are just zeroes!) on the table. Depending on how hard you set the game to be, you can be sure that you will be entertained, to the level that you will find proper. The graphics are either letter and numbers or the special ASCII characters, which is, again alright, as they are used with care and with good taste. Even the dices are made out of ASCII and the zero character, and, for the most part, it all works properly, and creates the best possible feel for it. And, when you've had your fill of ASCII eye candy, you'll find that the game plays well, and will keep you entertained for as long as you'll want it! Else, the 98 Backgammon Professional will offer you modern eye candy, with beautiful, almost realistic graphics!
