All-out war!
Battlefield 1942 is one of the most beloved entries in the long-running and hugely popular series of military shooters and this is a massive collection of content that is well worth picking up (although finding real opponents for the online multi-player might be tricky). The package includes the Game of the Year version of the base game plus a whole raft of extra material, making it an exhaustive package but which is a lot of fun. The main focus of the game is on the huge 64 player battles which take place across across four theaters of war in WWII, with loads of weapons and vehicles to try out in. Fortunately, there is a single-player option although this isn't a campaign and instead pits you against AI bots in the same kind of combat. This pack also includes the Road to Rome and Secret Weapons of WWII expansions which add in new maps, vehicles and weapons while you also get Battlefield Vietnam. This complete game is effectively the same thing but set in the Vietnam War and offers even more opportunities for mayhem. It's a shame that it's so difficult to find players for the online portion of this game (although it's still possible) as this really is an epic and hugely enjoyable shooter. There's just so much variety with all the weapons, maps and vehicles while it's also a game which requires genuine skill and teamwork if you want to win. The visuals still hold up pretty well today and although it does feel different to more modern shooters there's no denying that it's a genuinely thrilling experience. Definitely one for the shooter fan.
