8bit platformer, polished and minimalist
I don't know what Clyde is looking to take vengeance against, but the road to that is surely a great and challenging one; Clyde's Revenge is a great sidescrolling platformer, filled with spikes, with large, vertically advanced world. What Clyde's Revenge isn't is a too graphically advanced game; what I mean, the levels are surely large and polished, but they lack in detail. Basically 3 or 4 types of tiles make up the majority of the levels, and the background image manages to add a bit more variety to each level, though not much. So, my guess is, this is a game that pays homage to the 16 bit era of gaming, never trying to advance that recipe too much, but managing to create a playable and fun enough experience so that you won't really feel like you're cheated. Quite a large game is Clyde's Revenge however, which kind of counterbalances the lack of more details. I, for once loved it, and I'd put it in the same compartment with Lode Runner Online or Super Sales Acer, all three games that are fun, but ultimately lacking in some original concept of idea to put them apart from the world of sidescrollers out there.
