A racer meant to hype an early VR 3D prototype
Cyberbykes: Shadow Racer VR is by no length of imagination some highly enticing game, quite on the contrary you can see it as a pretty small and unimpressive game. But, it was used as a sort of tie-in product to present this early VR goggle system, much like the current line-up of VR goggles. At any rate, I doubt you will play it with the original goggles, but, it's alright, the game can be made to work on your monitor, without issues. No matter though, Cyberbykes: Shadow Racer VR was not ahead of its time in 95 as it is not a racer you'd want to play today either! It's just a couple of low gliding vehicles on top of areas that barely have anything to offer except a green surface for the soil and a a Windows like screen of death blue for the sky! It's a neat game in that it doesn't have anything much that can go wrong, but then again, it doesn't really have anything much to keep you playing, so, all things considered it's a pretty simple product, maybe a little too simple to try out. Anyway, if you like (relatively) experimental games you will like Cyberbykes as well, for the 30 minutes or so when you see all that it has to offer. Anyway, see Hi Octane also for a similarly cyber themed racer, but a meatier one for all intents and purposes.
