CyberMage: Darklight Awakening

Action 1995 Dos Dosbox ORIGIN Systems Shooter Science Fiction

OK FPS with RPG elements

CyberMage: Darklight Awakening could have been a cyberpunk shooter in the style of Quake without problems, were it not for a try to capture a new niche of storytelling, one more keen on introducing superpowers that feel more like future spell casting. So, if you've ever tried to see how would a classic FPS would feel like if you could shoot fire globes from your hands, CyberMage: Darklight Awakening can show it to you. The game is also less well made in terms ofteh corridor portions that it sports, which make up most of it. They are repetitive, easily duplicates with just a few elements interchanges, and don't really create that feeling of immersion that you'd expect or want from the game. But, even so, you're going to play it, as it's not half bad. After the idea of powers settles in, you'll see that the game plays as a classic shooter, only with some pauses to choose which developmental path to take, to make your progress more interesting or easy. Though, the game's not too hard either, but you'll get lost at times, which will increase a play through considerably if you don't rage quit during!

Cool!

I like it! The game makes me feel happy, it has a great story. CyberMage is a first-person shooter game with RPG elements designed by David W. Bradley. It was created by Origin and released by Electronic Arts in late 1995. Set in a cyberpunk reality, the game is characterized by a dark, heavy atmosphere. It wasn't particularly successful in sales, which is attributable to high system requirements and gameplay difficulty.
