A classic in the making
This fantastic sci fi adventure game is very special for a few reasons. Firstly, this is one of the last games that were played by typing in commands (Gateway 2 followed that in 1993). Secondly, it is set in the Heechee universe, which is a setting for a lot sci fi novels by famous Frederick Phols. The game is more about the story and character than about the gameplay or its features. In it, you are a simple prospector who won a one way ticket to Gateway. There, you discover a Heechee computer which makes you rich! But soon after, you discover that the computer made your world noticable the Assassins, a cult that threatens all advanced civilizations.. The rest is up to you to find out. The game is more like a graphic novel - it's mostly text, with you typing in commands from time to time. The soundtrack of the game is really nice and in tune with the game's atmosphere, emphasizing it. I can't see any bad points here. The game is just great. Very interesting, very, very intense, and although simple in gameplay, still very good. Highly recommended! And if you like other sci fi graphic novels, try Neuromancer.
