Nerdy superheroes in an interactive comic book format
With Gamma force in: Pit of a thousand screams, you get a wacky, nerdy set of superheroes, that you can play as in each installment. This game is part of a series, that wanted to create a universe such as the one from Marvel, however, the quality of the fiction, the stories and the superheroes were not too, let's say, cool. So, in terms of interactivity, you can choose at times which pathway to go on; as in a classic choose-your-adventure story, and, to top it all off, you also get a few puzzles, here and there, but nothing extraordinary. It's cool to see the comic book production which is kept at an alright level, but never is too satisfying, mainly because the game uses EGA graphics. So, with only 4 colors, not that extraordinary heroes and a rather poor backstory, Gamma force in: Pit of a thousand screams is a precursor to the CD ROM adventures/interactive fiction genre that is not too compelling. Download Lane Mastodon vs. The Blubberman for something similar, maybe this one will click better with you, though, in truth, it's quite as uninspired a comic book interactive game.
