So minimalist and old that it`s barely playable
In Gettysburg: The Turning Point you will get a wargame from the level of the tactical maps. However, the game, released in 86 uses layers of simplification and of symbols, on top of which it uses a very hard to interact with set of interfaces and generally, has a very old timey attitude, so much so that it almost impossible to play it without getting into some issues, generally of control but otherwise also. But, I would say, if you were one to dabble into such games in the time of the ZX Spectrum simulations of the same kind, I would say this game will kind of feel just the same. Because this game is definitely on to something. So, here's the deal, you should in theory be able to relive the experiences of the Gettysburg campaign, if you can stomach the control and visualization issues. Not that it's a bad game, nope, it actually won a few awards back in the day, but it's so far removed from what we consider a palatable war strategy today. So, anyway, give it a try, or else, play something like Sid Meier's Gettysburg!, lots more playable, with modern 3D top down graphics and more flexible a wargame.
