Colgate Palmolive: the game design company!
To be completely fair, Harald Hardtand is by no means the worst platformer produced by a food or household goods company. McDonalds was in this business as well, but their platformer game sure wasn't as fun as this one and I'm sure I played a few other games meant to advertise some product in the past. Well, in this left to right race you embody a cute little tooth, running about trying to clean the interior of someone's mouth of all sort of nasties, food bits, embodiments of cavities and so on; you get the idea the game tries to convey the urgency and necessity of washing your teeth, while suggesting that Colgate is the only tooth paste that should be used. Well, I don't know about that, but the game might as well be played, as it sure is alright, definitely not too original, not at all long or diverse but fun. See McDonald Land and see how these companies tried to sell themselves to kids in the early 90s, it sure is worth a nostalgic look back! But, it's no game that is worth its weight in gold, it's just a time waster after all, one that can be outstaged even by the least original or least enticing sidescrollers out there.
