A magical universe worth discovering
Heroes of Annihilated Empires, released in 2006, was developed by GSC Game Word, a leading software house engaged in pleasing the adventure games amateurs. It is recognised for providing some of the most revolutionary virtual creations. Heroes of Annihilated Empires is a project built to fill us with joy, to enchant our eyes and imagination with a dreamy fictional world. In this world there are legends, dragons, zombies and other fantastic characters. Sounds good, right? The genre is role-playing game combined with real-time strategy, and your character (an elf called Elhant) will face many obstacles in his way to bring peace to the lands. You have to survive the enourmous and challenging battles, and you will also confront with dramatic situations, such as betrayals. Because let's face it, without the dramatic aspect, games will be pretty boring and the tale wouldn't attract you the same way. The story also focuses its attention on the development of the main character, considering his powers and skills. The magic aspect consists in cards with different spells, artifacts, treasures, and I was impressed by the spectacular palette and the realistic elements (effects, moving waves of water, shadows). Like other similar games such as the popular World of Warcraft, this game also deserves to be discovered by the fans of the genre.
