Expands the original with some original maps
Hexen II: Mission Pack: Portal of Praevus is your regular map filled expansion pack, which tackles a few options and missing points of the original game as well. What am I talking about? Well, the second Hexen game surely was a nice first person shooter/dark fantasy game, but it had more of a unitary theme, both in the way the missions played out, as well as in the design of the levels themselves. This expansion pack makes the game a lot more diverse design and a bit gameplay wise as well. You wouldn't expect to see lots of color and actually, light in a Hexen game, but yeah, this expansion picks it up exactly there. Don't worry, it's not a fluff fest of rainbows and puppies, nope, the game is still darkly and devilish, even a bit scary at times, but in the universe it created it manages to cram some instances that you wouldn't have expected to see in such a game. And frankly, even if there might be a little disconnect, it's alright, it diversifies the gameplay. So yeah, graphically it's at the same level as the original, gameplay wise is as well, there, in the same zone, but thematically it's more diverse and more interesting. And, also, doesn't up the difficulty ante crazy style, which is always nice, given that some oldie shooter upgrades could really put you through your paces!
