The NASCAR Thunder series is a pretty solid set of racing games and which do a good job of matching the thrills, spills and sheer personality of titles like Daytona, Sega Rally and the classic Outrun. This installment is fairly typical for the franchise so if you have an interest in NASCAR, it should prove interesting, and even if you don't, it's still quite fun. This one features most of the usual options for such games, with the choice of taking your driver through a full season, or even a twenty year career, amongst other such things. As you race, you'll visit all the real locations as seen in the tournament, and if you go for the career option, you'll have to consider things like sponsorship and car upgrades along the way, and which add some depth to proceedings. You've also got all the showbiz razzle dazzle of the real world, with flashy videos and intros to spice things up, along with a healthy dose of realism in terms of the driving. NASCAR Thunder is an all around decent little racing game, that provides everything fans of such things demand. There's a great range of options and modes to choose from and play around with and which should keep you going for some time. There's also the right sense of challenge to things, and it will take a while to get used to how the cars handle, but which proves quite satisfying and enjoyable. The visuals are sharp and detailed, while the presentation is excellent and with sound to match. Overall, a fine choice of driving game for any NASCAR fan.
