Shall I take your temperature now?
Following closely in the footsteps of interactive novels like Do You Like Horny Bunnies? and Virgin Roster, this Japanese, adults-only anime game is going to be lapped up by genre fans and reviled by anyone else. Like its brethren, it's little more than a book with some very graphic scenes married with the occasional bit of decision making and a bonkers storyline. Here, schoolkid Hiroki has suffered from a mysterious illness for years and which means his life is far from normal. His best friend Ayano looks after him a lot, and has deeper feelings for him, but he pushes her away due to his own sense of inadequacy. However, when Maria, a private nurse, shows up and says she can cure him in a month, things all get a bit complicated and romance is set to blossom, but it's not clear with whom. What follows is a standard interactive novel, where you follow the storyline, proceeding at your own pace and every so often making a choice which results in a plot branch, with several possible endings to discover. If you are a fan of the genre, then you should enjoy this one. The visual design is actually rather nice here, with some very striking character work that stands out from the crowd, thanks to its stylish handling. The storyline is also quite engaging, with a few good twists and turns that will keep you guessing, while the multiple endings introduce some replay value. If you are easily offended though, don't even consider this as it does get quite graphic at times. If this doesn't bother you though, you should have a good time here.
