First person RPG with good graphics
If you want to explore a big, sprawling world, in which you will encounter a lot of different quests, in a well produced 3D environment, Realms of Arkania 3: Shadows Over Riva will sure do it. The game doesn't feature 3D environments exclusively however. Certain dungeon encounters, will play out turn based strategy style, spicing up the experience in term of diversity. Yes, you are going to need to familiarize yourself with the abilities of your companions and carefully pick them from the ones that appear in the gaming world. In terms of story, there is a rather dull overarching central quest to go after, but also, there is so much awaiting to be discovered at each and every corner of the game that you are bound to forget about the end game. In terms of problems, I would add interface which might be a bit hard to get accustomed to, and the clash of very high quality 2D graphics along with the good, but less detailed 3D environments. Yeah, maybe the game is a bit outdated, even for a 96 game, but if you've cut your teeth on Golden Box RPGs, this will feel like a departure in the right graphical direction.
