Recreate the famous Civil War battle
Gettysburg is an outstanding strategy game that recreates one of the most famous Civil war battles in history. Much like Civilization, Meiers masterpiece, the game is fantastic and in 1998, Gettysburg won the Origins Award for Best Strategy Computer Game of 1997. Playing as the Confederates or the Union, you get to be a part of history and make the threads that created the USA that is today. You can choose to play single scenarios, linked scenarios and campaigns as a single player, on online. You can also choose if you will play in accurate historic environments or choose an alternative setting. The gameplay is smooth, fun and very challenging. The graphical experience is just outstanding, with incredible detail, down to the last horse and rifle. The colors are beautiful and the animation fast and dynamic. The sound system is also beautiful and very detailed, you can even hear the marching trumpets and neighing of horses. I say, if Civilization wasn't created, I would say that this game right here is the masterpiece. For ful historical gaming experience, get the game's sequel Sid Meier's Antietam! or get the two games together in a fan pack called Sid Meier's Civil War Collection.
