World War II. has always been a great background for games. Even more so, RTS games. Besides the fact that WWII. was the largest armed conflict in the history of mankind, there is something appealing in blowing up Nazi tanks and bunkers. Unfortunately, the developers tend to overuse this setting, so there is a myriad of games with WWII. theme, which presents every new title with a tough challenge. To stand out of the crowd, game needs a fresh approach to familiar universe, great graphics and even better gameplay. One of the few games to really hit big with WWII. is Soldiers: Heroes of World War II (imagine Silent Storm with tons of units to control). Game sets you in command of multiple units, and you are tasked with various missions, all different in scope and objective. Gameplay is diverse, entertaining and very, very, difficult. Graphics are beautiful, just like sound effects, and they really add to the overall value of the game. If you are a fan of RTS and WWII, you can't bypass this game.
