Combine Lode Runner and Lemmings and you get Humans!
While certainly it has a tongue-in-cheek idea behind it, The Humans is also a pretty serious arcade action/puzzler game. It's delivered in cool, well delivered sidescrolling graphics, and, also, it has a certain patina of old, but well done and easy to control graphics. Another cool thing about the game is that it has humanoid characters that will remind you of prehistoric man, and in a very cool way; thus, while graphically it doesn't take itself too serious, The Humans still manages to go a long way in terms of playability. There are lots of task based puzzles, some of them inspired by Lode Runner, and thus more in the style of a classic sidescroller; then, when you think you nailed the recipe down, the game shifts to a sort of Lemmings like puzzler, where you have to controls more than one character and use each one in order to get to the exit, chaining together different commands so that you will manage to keep as many of the human alive. It's interesting, and the combination of gameplay styles offers an original kind of product that is worth looking into.
