The...math of hockey!
Don't go near this game if you want to experience a game where players look like players and where you simply want to have a feeling that you are there, on the ice. Nope, this is a bareboned hockey simulation, one that, ultimately manages to convey similar feelings to a regular hockey game, even if the background is black and the players are just dots. Because, The Solar Hockey League is a math heavy simulation, with minimalist graphics. But it manages to create the game, irreverent of the graphical limitations. Nope, in terms of the way you play, I'd argue that this game is even more precise than a later hockey game of the era with fully fledged 2D graphics, just that it takes a while to dial your graphical expectations down. But after you do, and aided by the in game team management module and the numerical values that describe how your players will perform, when all these are considered you find that this is so much more an accurate description, if abstract, of hockey. And, ultimately, that is all one should expect and ask of a game such as this one.
