A perfectly playable Carmen Sandiego game, but not too original
We've gone looking for Carmen Sandiego in Europe, in America, and in lots of other places. We hadn't though, gone back in time, but with Where in America's past is Carmen Sandiego? that no longer is the case! Because, of course, learning a bit about America's history can be a great past time, and a great educational trip, but, given the chase the detective way in which the series has been plotted, it couldn't have been done absent some way to travel back in time. Now that it has become possible, there is no way to travel to important historic times, and witness and even be part of America's staple moments. Granted, Where in America's past is Carmen Sandiego? is not as polished, nor is it as exciting as, say, Where in Europe is Carmen Sandiego? but that doesn't mean that it is less playable. Not at all, the game is frankly even more polished than a few of the older titles, but it no longer can take you by surprise, as its strategies and way to plot your adventure have long been expended. So, only play this one if you haven't had too much Carmen in your system, and if you can deal with a game that holds no more secrets.
