Crime never sleeps
The Carmen Sandiego franchise is one of the longest and most beloved in the edutainment genre, with pursuit of the devious criminal having taken players to Europe, into space and even through time. This enhanced edition of the second game in the series is an absolute treat for newcomers and fans alike, offering as it does the familiar and engaging gameplay with some nicely enhanced graphics for added appeal. In case you've never played one of these games before, the idea is that you are a new recruit into a detective agency which seems to have one goal: tracking down the notorious supercriminal, Carmen Sandigeo. In this case, she is somewhere in the USA so you have to follow whatever leads you can find in order to discover where she's been. Once you pick a location, you have to question witnesses who might have seen her or her accomplices, picking up clues which tell you where she might be heading next. Along the way, you get to learn some interesting facts about the US, and once you think you've pieced everything together, you have to issue an arrest warrant for whichever criminal you're on the trail of. Get enough of Carmen's gang and you might be able to get your hands on the elusive lady herself! While the gameplay to this series has never really evolved, the games remain a classic of the genre, alongside Headline Harry. This one is a solid entry, with the nicely characterful graphics and engaging missions providing plenty to enjoy, as well as some cool stuff to learn, so if you want to show off your knowledge of US history and geography, then check this out.
