the "negative" fall of max payne
As I stated in the review title, and appealing to logic, the double negative makes a positive which means that this game is a remarkable production, being the direct sequel of Max Payne and the game released in 2003 by Rockstar Games. Max Payne 2 is a third-person shooter within which the player assumes the role of Max Payne (and alternatively of Mona Sax). The story of this game is a continuation to the previous game, starting with Max at hospital, badly injured. While on his way out he is attacked and NYPD Chief Inspector Jim Bravura is killed in the process by the assasin. Later he finds the dead body of Winterson. The game goes back at the beginning of the story, picking up from where the previous game left off. Payne is charged and cleared of several homicides. Two years later Max gets involved in investigating a series of murders by a group of contract killers called The Cleaners which makes the plot of this game that points to the resuming beside Winterson's body. After that, not divulging too much, a series of events point to a dramatic firefight in which Mona barely survies, which is the last part of this game. The objectives are acknowledged through the monologue of the character. What makes Max Payne so great are the features that make the gameplay experience extraordinary. This game allow the player to enable Bullet Time, a mode that slows time, still allowing the player to aim in real-time. You can jump on sides behind the wall for example, while enabling Bullet Time which gives you the sensation of Matrix. Identification of this mode is made through the sepia tone added to the screen. Another great feature is the dynamic adaptation of artificial intelligence combat difficulty based on your achievements. The AI changes on the fly if you die too many times. The weapons range from a 9mm pistol that you get in the first stage and go to weapons including handguns, shotguns, submachine guns, assault rifles, sniper rifles and hand-thrown weapons. Overall, you it is highly recommended you try this game out and test those great features that Rockstar Games packed into it.
