Tomb Raider III: Adventures of Lara Croft
Another installment of the series
Tomb Raider III: Adventures in India is another installment in the Tomb Raider series. This game is available on PC CD-ROM only. Let me start by saying this The game Tomb Raider III: Adventures of Lara Croft , that we are all familiar with, that had various different ports on different consoles (including the Sega Dreamcast), however this version of Tomb Raider III is only the first few levels of the game that are set in India! Which is only one fifth of the game! Tomb Raider:III Adventures in India was sold at shops as low budget game by the company Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). If you are a fan of Tomb Raider, and dont actually want to play all the way through the game, then I guess this is for you. I didnt play all that much further into the game anyway, and found the game so hard that I had to end up using cheats. Since this was the first Tomb Raider I ever played, I found the graphics stunning, the enemies and traps amazing and the story line amazing. Eventually I found myself coming to very frustrating puzzles from early on in the game, that made me stop playing the game for a while and made the game slow paced, but there is often secrets to be found and further ways to progress. It wasn not that bad of the game, but I actually enjoyed Lara's mansion that served only as a free roaming tutorial to be the most entertaining part of the game, so that is always worth a look and entertaining for a couple of hours to appreciate the gameplay.
It's The Same
Tomb Raider 3 is the third entry in the Tomb Raider series, developed by Core Design. Lara Croft, the cute treasure hunter, is back once again in the third game in the series and I'm okay with that. While not my favorite in the series, Tomb Raider 3 is not neither a bad or a boring game. The charm in the previous Tomb Raider games have returned in this one as well. The story of the game picks up where Tomb Raider 2 ended. In the game's backstory, we learn that a meteroid hit Antarctica, destroying a full area of life. However, a corporation called RX Tech excavates the site, finding strange looking statues and the grave of one the Darwin's sailors. From here, you're familiar with the protagonists story: travel around the world and collect the treasures. Simple. The game takes place in 5 different locations: India, London, South Pacific Islands, Nevada and finally in Antarctica. Let's not forget the Croft Mansion as well! The gameplay is similar like in the previous games, as far as the controls go. Once again, you'll have a lot of puzzle solving and platforming to do. and even some combat parts to do as well. I really wished that this game had brought something different in the game, to make it a little different than the other games. The graphics look a little better and the sound effects are good, but with the lack of music, the mood for playing this game is quickly destroyed. Overall, Tomb Raider 3 is an okay action-adventure game, but not as good as the others. But, if you ever see this game, you can at least give it a try.
