Platformer that`ll take you in an Egyptian temple!
The original game here was released for the ZX Spectrum in the 80s, but this fan remake is a remarkable effort to bring the game into actuality. It gives it better graphics, with a sort of modern day retro tinge of 8bit/16bit graphics, and the same goal of the original still stands: you have to navigate the inner maze of an Egyptian temple to find your way to the heart of it, and to get rid of the curse that has been set in the mortuary room of the temple. Easier said than done, because in good Egyptian fashion, the entire temple is teeming with traps, reanimated corpses and the like. Thus, for a sidescroller game mainly based on navigation and on solving puzzles, this one has quite a few action portions as well. It is also fairly simple to control, given that the entire list of actions is pretty small: activate traps, jump and shoot and that is mostly it. The best thing about the game is the beautiful graphics though, which look amazing, and bring a new lease of life to the oldie Spectrum. Alternatively, download The Lost Vikings and play up until the middle of the game, where an Egyptian themed level awaits.
