Excellent fantasy game designer
Fancy making your own game instead of just playing someone else's vision? You're a fan of AD&D? Then you need to check out this great little construction kit which allows you to create your own RPGs set in the well realised and detailed fantasy world that has captivated players for decades. With a bit of thought and care, you'll be able to create a traditional party-based adventure, where you control a group of heroes as they venture forth through cities and dungeons, grabbing loot, interacting with NPCs and of course whacking ugly monsters over the head with impressively shiny weapons. While it all sounds complicated, it's actually relatively straightforward constructing something that's halfway decent, thanks to the game's accessible interface and hefty amounts of included content. Everything is split into modules, or the levels that will make up your game, and you simply choose the elements which make them up, like arranging walls, doors and corridors. Once this is done, you then bring in the events, which is things like NPCs, combat, traps and shops, and then continue in this fashion until you have your game. Of course, this is a simplified explanation and it does take some time and planning to create an entire product, but that's the gist. There's a lot of included art and monsters, but you can also import your own visuals or edit character profiles to suit your own needs and give things that unique touch. While the package is obviously somewhat old now, for anyone keen to try out their design skills in the fantasy RPG genre, this is exactly what you need. It's pretty easy to get into and there's a lot of scope for coming up with something interesting and it certainly makes for a satisfying experience.
