A game where fantasy and technology are in harmony
Arcanum: Of Steamworks & Magick Obscura is a fantasy role-playing game released in 2001 by Sierra Entertainment, whose concept is very similar to another RPG, Fallout. The plot is interesting, capturing your attention: a zeppelin is shot down and the only survivor is called "The Living One", being compared to a deity, by a witness, Virgil. You have to go on a search of a boy, and bring a silver ring to him. Also, you have to find the responsible one for the crash. Firstly, I announce you that this game makes every minute spent a real joy, where your efforts aren't useless. The world presented takes place in an era of industrial revolution, where elves, dwarves, ogres and gnomes exist, so the fantasy nature dominates the story. Despite this fantasy aspect that characterize this game, the modernity is also present, because the characters embrace technology. Before playing, you will have to create your character, setting their skills, traits, race, attributes and other elements relating to magic or technology. The dialogues are well-written, the graphics are decent, not flattering, but they won't distract you from the action. Overall, if you are a fan of role-playing games, of presentable story and gameplay, Arcanum: Of Steamworks & Magick Obscura will suit your preferences!
