Well done checkers, classic, in 2D, well playable
Argo Checkers is nothing special if you expected some of that Archon type interpretation of Chess; nope, it's not that, it's a well delivered digitization of classic checkers, so if you have played that digitally or the actual board game, you'll feel right at home with this game too. But, to its merit, the game has a lot of features, amongst which the most important are its tutorial, implemented really nice, so you can learn the basics and some lower and mid level strategies and, also, a number of different difficulty options, so you can challenge the computer and by doing that learn the game's intricacies. Graphically it's one of those clean, well produced, classy design type of deals, you know, tasteful and sporting elegant, but never too original graphics. So, this can definitely be your meat and potatoes kind of 2D digital checkers without a doubt, as it also sports a hot seat multiplayer mode, so you can challenge your friends when you don't have a chess table lying around. Or, alternatively, try Epic Checkers which I graphically more modern bundle, for those that want to multitask this game.
