Fist person shooter from within a spaceship
Captain Power and the Soldiers of the Future is a game that should spark some memories to those that lived (and were lucky enough to have!) on HBO in the late 80s, as it's story is based on a show that HBO aired during that period. What the show was about, was a sort of spin on the Star Trek ideas, and it also features some space battles. And these space battles is what this game is all about, what it wants to recreate. It does as good a job as it can, given that the game was released in 88, was not a large budget production, and, for the most part, it had to withstand a lot of limitations. Thus, what you get is a cockpit rider, from where you will drive the endless space and shoot at the assortment of baddies. It can be fun for a short while, but, as you'd imagine, there isn't a lot to expect, and soon enough it's rusty nature takes a toll on it, and you'll just conclude that you had enough of it. So yeah, if you like Tie Fighter this one too might spark some interest, but don't expect nothing out of the ordinary. It's surely a well done game, but it's only got so much content, so don't expect to play it over and over again.
