Hulk travelled back in time and had himself a bash!
If you crave a light spirited sidescroller, not too high on platforming but with just the right amount of that kind of mechanic, also, want a prehistoric cartoon theme for the game, then Deathbringer might as well offer you what you see. In good old fashioned 8bit NES style, this one doesn't go out of its way to be too smart or self important. Nope, the major interactions are set in the first seconds of play. You get your bat wielding character and then you're set free, left to right, to bash anything that gets your way. The mechanics work well enough though. The graphics also are great, for what the game wants to be. The prehistoric world is colorful, has that Fred and Barney type of look, which, also, is pretty great as well. Not too original, after a while, but the first few levels look alright. SO, yeah, ultimately, Deathbringer is a pretty shallow game, but for all intents and purposes it works. A good alternative to it could be Joe and Mac Caveman Ninja which also features the same kind of style of graphics and just as angry a set of protagonists!
