Early soccer sim with a managerial side to it
Goal II could have been a simple top down 2D soccer game that might have been forgotten, especially since the early 90s were quite bent on producing as many such simulations as possible. However, showing some signs of modernity, Goal II takes to innovation, and it does try combining both managerial as well as action game elements all into one. Maybe this is not the first game to do this, but it sure manages to do a great job at it. The Game is not too nice looking though. Yes, 92 was still in the frame of 2D games, but even so many other games had managed to offer more. At any rate, you will want to try this game out if you have love for games that try something different, that shake things up. The action portion is simple to control, with few buttons and a few nice combos. For instance, if you want to shoot you can choose to do it in the immediate vicinity or forward to a player out of the playing field. The accuracy however is calculated based on the player shooting, which can potentially be improved in the managerial portion. At any rate, you will definitely find the game playable, though it will need some getting used to, especially if you haven't played an older soccer game in a long time.
