Incredibly realistic
IL-2 Sturmovik is a 2001 flight simulator published by Ubi Soft Entertainment Software and developed by 1C:Maddox Games. 1C Company is a leader videogame company in Russia, and speaking of this game, the producers proved that they are real craftsmen in aeronautic and hystorical reenactment. The action takes place in the times of World War II, where you can play as the Soviets or Germans, having two modes available: the campaign and the single mission. Although the game has potential, the options allow you to control very few aircrafts. Now, let's talk about the missions. They correspond with the type of action you're involved, giving you a pleasant and realistic feeling. The interesting aspect stays in the way the airplanes are designed. They are created incredibly realistic, in both piloting behaviour (which is almost perfect) and command options. The best feature is represented by the harmonious combination between the airplane model and the game's engine. So, the producers attention to details is worthy of praise. Their laudable attention has also been directed to the damaging application. For example, if you were hit in a specific part, it will take some time for the effect to appear. You can play against your friends in multiplayer mode, but I didn't like the gameplay's tendency to lag here and there. For those that want very full control upon the airplanes, there are some limitations considering this fact. Play this game, because you will be impressed by all things it can offer!
