Good, classic chess game
Kasparov's Gambit is a rather graphically dated chess sim, which includes a lot of materials meant to teach you tactical and critical thinking ideas about the game. But, unfortunately, there's no escaping from the grip of the old style and older mannerisms that this title is teeming to the brim with. Where it fails mostly, is at offering enough examples to explain a concept, a strategy. Yes, the words of Kasparov himself are rather easy to understand, but it's like talking to someone who already understands the principles and only needs them narrated. Thus, I think that the game might appeal to advanced chess players, who can also manage the DOS era interfaces and the DOS era technical limitations and issues. Again, you will have to make concessions to the graphics, but mostly, to the limited size of the game, which is probably mostly to blame for this product's underlying issues. So, without a question, you will have to consider carefully if you're really in to learn the game or just exploring the evolution of the genre. The later explorers will have a better time than those that want a more streamlined, no issues type chess tutorial experience.
