Tabletop stock market sim; math heavy, immersive
Stocks And Bonds is a tabletop turn based stock market simulation, which allows you to trade from the 10 securities available. You start the game with a measly 5000 dollars but if you trade carefully and take risks you too can become a very successful trader. The game plays in turns and each turn represents one full year of stock exchanges. From this point of view, Stocks And Bonds is not that very detailed, but then again, there isn't a limit on how many years you can go on and do deals. You can play against the PC or you can play with (against) 7 other human players. A few nice touches in the trading are included, such as the hype that surrounds the Black Friday as well as the inclusion of the Happy Monday, all staples of oldschool (and even present) trading periods. Graphically we're talking about a game coded in BASIC, so don't expect too many bells and whistles, but for what it's worth, Stocks And Bonds looks alright, as the information is neatly presented on screen. So, if you'd like to try a very old stock broker sim, Stocks And Bonds can be it. Additionally, download Stock Market - The Game, still from the infancy of the genre, 87, but nonetheless well produced.
