Satisfying squad based tactical shooter
This game here, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield is without a doubt one of the better ones in the Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six series. I don't say that lightly because the older games were definitely well put together. In fact, the series was one of my favorites back when I was a dedicated Xbox 1 player, and so, with that said I have to give this game its due respect, because it sure managed a great job on a number of levels. First of all, controlling your squad is easy and direct. If you want your comrades to stay, follow you or to occupy a certain position on the map, you can easily pint to that direction, or just press a button. So with that out of the question the game is well put together in that respect. Also, you can choose to give even more complex directions, such as timing an intervention, say, to enter into a room to save hostages. All this effort to actually make controlling the squad work as a unit is really rewarding, and the shooting, is just as interesting. Your type of playing can be quite different, you can be one of those that goes full guns blazing, and, as long as your accuracy in shooting is high enough, you can make that work as well. However, timing your mission, using stealth and cover and using the entire team also will have its own rewards, and at times, as you'd expect the missions will ask of you to play conservatively. But, at any rate, within the niche of squad based tactics shooters, I love the immediacy of control and the well balanced gameplay that Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield offered.
