A Martian Twist on Transport Tycoon!
Transport Tycoon on Mars is, for all intents and purposes, a Transport Tycoon mod. The mod changes the graphics, city names, and theme to that of Mars. The original was released in 1994, developed by Chris Sawyer, published and distributed by MicroProse for the DOS system. In this game, you are the manager of a transport company, and you must connect resources and towns together to become the ultimate transport tycoon. This game is very similar in layout and graphics style to Rollercoaster Tycoon and Rollercoaster Tycoon II. Chris Sawyer decided to keep the UI almost the same between these games, so anyone that has played either series will feel at home playing this game. For its time the graphics are advanced, presenting sharp isometric, animated sprites. Graphically and otherwise, the game ran flawlessly as tested on DOSBox 0.73.Unlike the Rollercoaster Tycoon games, where you are given a challenge to complete within a certain time period, Transport Tycoon's only goal is to make a profit, and stay in business from 1930 to 2030. To make money, you must build a network of planes, trains and automobiles between resources, cities and other networks. There are many aspects to consider while playing including a per-city karma system towards the player, vehicle reliability, disasters and of course, other AI or human players.Transport Tycoon was a very good game to play. It's quick to learn, but takes a while to master. And if you love Mars, this game mod is for you.
