An acceptable point and click adventure
Sherlock Holmes: Secret of the Silver Earring is developed by Frogwares, a company dedicated in producing adventure videogames. The popularity of Frogwares wouldn't existed if the company didn't have the original idea to create the Sherlock Holmes series, inspired by Sir Conan Doyle's books. In this game, the case follows a murder suspect, the daughter of an influent businessman. So, you will have to complete missions that seem impossible to solve, and you will witness the amazing and logical analysis undertaken by perspicacious Holmes. I loved the plot, the musical ambient that combined perfectly with Sherlock's accent, the beautiful graphics and details that described perfectly the Victorian style (furniture, clothing, decorations). The puzzles imply the contribution of your brain in discovering various objects that can help Holmes during his investigations. When he says "I need something" during this process, the magnifying glass in his inventory can be used most of the times. The missions are quite complex and you won't be able to complete them if you don't pay enough attention to details, to conversations with all the characters you have to discuss, or if you won't investigate properly. The environment is exquisite and you will definitely enjoy it. One thing that bothered me was the point and click feature, that limited your freedom to control the meticulous character. If you will choose to play in the company of Sherlock Holmes, you will be delighted by this game as you will probably be when you watch the related movies.
